Preparation for the school event involves many students, each one with a different task. A commited second year student created a poster for the school event to happen on Friday, November 15. Another one volunteered to create an event on facebook to advertise for the event they organise. Many other students are doing on field visits to ask for the support of local authorities in Hammam-Lif to support their action. More details will be shared soon in a report about it.

The aim behind this action is to make the school a pleasant studying environment by embellishing its garden. The main goal, however, is for students develop and run an action project or campaign related to climate protection as part of their actions to embed the Global Goals in their school projects and their community.

With joined efforts and more conciousness, we can improve the planet's situation, stop climate change and avoid our decay. Every small action matters.
"Climate change does not respect border; it does not respect who you are - rich and poor, small and big. Therefore, this is what we call 'global challenges,' which require global solidarity."

Looking Ahead to the Future: Grandma Stories in 2080

We definitely still cherish our childhood memories of our grandparents telling stories. Most of us would not remember most of those stories. And I'm afraid that one day we lose that cultural heritage. Because it is important for the future generations to be rooted in their own culture and open to other nations, Grandma Stories in 2080 is a collaborative writing project that starts from the partner countries cultural heritage of tales grandparents or parents would tell their grandchildren/children. Furthermore, stories are powerful tools for education and to create change. Through storytelling, students reflect on serious issues such as environment, quality education, gender equality, peace, and justice while developing their language skills and creativity! The students taking part in the project co-write Grandma Stories to her grandchildren. As for the themes evoked in the stories, they are inspired from the UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Grandma Stories in 2080 is an eTwinning collaborative story writing project. That includes 3 schools from Tunisia and  other schools from European countries.

As mentioned above this is a collaborative project that promotes cultural understanding through digital storytelling. The students from the different countries in the project collect stories narrated by their grandmathers in their native language and share them online in the form of podcasts and subtitled videos. The following padlet is a collection of the Tunisian stories translated to English by the Tunisian students.

Fait avec Padlet

Through listening to the diffrent stories, the students notice the structure of a narrative in order to write one. They also notice that there are similarities in fairy tales in different countries with more or less some change. The years of 2080's will be a time when the students taking part in the project would be grandparents. In this project, they write their own stories, the stories they would tell to their grandchildren, inspired from the #SDGs. What is particularly worth noting is that the project goes beyond merely sensitizing the students about global issues to  urging them to take action  to tackle real world problems and write a better version story of their future.

You can find here the final products of the project with a description of the collaborative process.
